Abstract	Kardiovaskularne bolesti među vodećim su uzrocima invalidnosti i smrtnosti u Republici Hrvatskoj i u svijetu. Istraživanja pokazuju da se značajan dio kardiovaskularnih bolesti i njihovih posljedica može spriječiti promjenom stila života. Iz toga razloga važno je provođenje mjera zdravstvenog odgoja koji uključuje edukaciju o pozitivnom zdravstvenom ponašanju i značaju promjene nezdravog stila života na prevenciju nastanka kardiovaskularnih bolesti i njihovih komplikacija. U radu će biti opisane najčešće kardiovaskularne bolesti i njihovi simptomi, te komplikacije. Nadalje, biti će opisana povezanost stila života i kardiovaskularnih bolesti, te mogućnost prevencije istih. Rad će biti pisan u formi preglednog rada.
