Abstract	Glavna uloga žučnog mjehura u ljudskom organizmu je pohrana i koncentracija žuči, koju proizvodi jetra. Nakon obroka kontrakcijom žučnog mjehura, žuč dospijeva u lumen tankog crijeva kroz ekstrahepatične žučne vodove. Žuč predstavlja važan dio apsorpcije tvari topivih u mastima, kao što su vitamini A, D, E i K stoga zbog prestanka izlučivanja žuči može doći do poteškoća u njihovoj apsorpciji.
