Abstract
Normalna uzlazna, ascendentna aorta služi kao elastični rezervoar kojim se poboljšava arterijski protok. Ona sakuplja energiju tijekom sistole koja zatim rasipa tijekom dijastole. Srednji sloj aorte, koji se sastoji od elastina, kolagena i stanica glatkog mišićja, osigurava elasticitet zida aorte. Ascendentni dio aorte je više elastičan od silaznog dijela zbog svoje veće koncentracije elastičnih vlakana. Aneurizma aorte definirana je kao trajno proširenje zida aorte koji prelazi više od 1.5... More puta u promjeru od normalnog promjera aorte, u nekom specifičnom dijelu (promjer uzlazne aorte ima normalnu vrijednost 24 – 36 mm, a njegova dilatacija u promjeru >40 mm se smatra aneurizmom. U završnome radu prikazane su trenutne indikacije i kirurški načini liječenja aneurizme ascendentne aorte, kvaliteta života bolesnika nakon operacije s posebnim naglaskom na sestrinsku skrb prije i nakon operativnog zahvata.
