Abstract
Na percepciju boli mogu utjecati različiti faktori, među kojima su osobito važni sugestija od strane medicinskog tima ili autosugestija pacijenta. Očekivanja izazvana pozitivnom sugestijom mogu smanjiti percepciju boli izazvane neugodnim podražajem, dok negativna sugestija može pojačati doživljaj boli. U ovom radu navedene su tehnike suzbijanja boli koje uvelike mogu promijeniti kvalitetu života osobe koja pati od kronične ili akutne boli a koje se temelje na principima sugestije; hipnoza, placebo efekt, tehnike relaksacije(autogeni trening, progresivna mišićna relaksacija, biofeedback). Navedena su razna istraživanja koja potvrđuju da se percepcija boli može smanjiti pravilnom upotrebom sugestije.
