Abstract	Tehnologija rekombinirane DNA ili genetičko inženjerstvo je skup molekularnih metoda pomodu kojih je mogude mijenjati nasljednu informaciju organizma. Fragment strane DNA dobiven djelovanjem visoko specifične restrikcijske endonukleaze ugrađuje se u vektorsku DNA (najčešde plazmid ili fag) tretiranu istim enzimom. Rekombinirana molekula nastala procesom transfekcije ili transdukcije unosi se u stanicu domadina unutar koje se, u vedini slučajeva, može samostalno replicirati. Kao posljedica mnogostrukih dioba stanice u koju je unesen vektor, stvaraju se klonovi s velikim brojem unesenog fragmenta koji nosi informaciju za željeno svojstvo.
